A ceremony built entirely around you
A Humanist wedding is free from any fixed script or religious requirement, which means your ceremony can be built entirely around the two of you — your story, your words, your choices. There is no set formula to follow and nothing you have to include simply because tradition says so.
Instead, we start with a blank page and fill it with the things that make you, you. I take the time to really get to know you both, so that by the time your day arrives your guests hear a ceremony that feels warm, personal and unmistakably yours. Expect laughter, a few happy tears and a real sense of the people at the heart of it all.
My job is to make the whole thing feel relaxed and natural — for you and for everyone watching — so you can simply enjoy the moment you promise your lives to one another.
How it works
We meet & get to know each other
We sit down together — in person or over a video call — and I ask all about the two of you: how you met, what matters to you and how you picture your day. There is no pressure, just a friendly chat over a cuppa.
I write your bespoke ceremony from scratch
Using everything you have shared, I craft a completely original ceremony and send it to you to read. Nothing is off-the-shelf, and we shape and tweak it together until every word feels exactly right.
I lead your day with warmth and calm
On the day itself I am there to steady any nerves and guide everyone through with warmth and calm, so you can relax and be fully present for one of the biggest moments of your lives.
What your ceremony can include
Every ceremony is different, but here are some of the lovely touches couples often choose to weave into their day.
- Your love story, told beautifully — how you met, fell in love and got to this moment.
- Personal vows written in your own words, spoken from the heart.
- Readings by the people you love, whether heartfelt, funny or somewhere in between.
- Symbolic acts such as handfasting, ring warming or sharing a quaich — a lovely Scottish touch.
- Candle or unity rituals to symbolise two lives joining as one.
- Involving children or family, so your whole world feels part of the promise.
- Music and moments that matter to you, from your first dance song to a piece that means the world.
Best of all, your ceremony can be held almost anywhere — a barn, a beach, a hillside, a hotel or your own back garden. Wherever feels like you, that is where we will be.
Vow renewals
A vow renewal is a beautiful way to pause and celebrate the journey you have shared. Whether you are marking a special anniversary, reaching a milestone or simply want to say “I would choose you all over again”, it is a chance to reflect on how far you have come together.
Some couples renew their vows to celebrate the years, the family they have built and the challenges they have weathered side by side. Others do it just because their love feels worth celebrating out loud. Whatever the reason, I will craft a ceremony that honours your story so far and looks forward to all that is still to come.
